Book synopsis
While vacationing in Jerusalem, world-renowned detective Hercule Poirot overhears a chilling declaration: a plan to murder a woman he suspects is the matriarch of the Boynton family. Mrs. Boynton, a bloated, tyrannical figure, holds her adult children in a state of psychological terror, ruling their lives with a malevolent eye. As the family prepares for a journey to the rose-red city of Petra, Poirot senses that a lethal confrontation is inevitable. When a body is discovered among the desert ruins, the detective must unravel a web of domestic abuse and hidden motives to identify the killer.
