Book synopsis
On a snowbound New Year's Eve at Royston, the enigmatic Mr. Harley Quin makes a sudden, dramatic appearance just as the guests begin to recount a decade-old tragedy. With the help of the observant Mr. Satterthwaite, Quin guides the party through a psychological re-examination of Derek Capel’s inexplicable suicide. As the layers of the past are peeled back, the presence of a mysterious woman and the arrival of a long-delayed post reveal that the truth is never as simple as it seems. In these tales, Mr. Quin serves as a silent catalyst for justice, appearing only when the dead require an advocate.
