Book synopsis
In the wake of World War I, two penniless and adventure-seeking friends, Tommy Beresford and Tuppence Cowley, form 'The Young Adventurers, Ltd.' with a simple mantra: no unreasonable offer refused. Their first assignment plunges them into a high-stakes international conspiracy involving a missing woman named Jane Finn and a secret treaty lost during the sinking of the Lusitania. As they navigate a web of kidnappings, disguises, and false identities, they must unmask the mysterious 'Mr. Brown' before a revolutionary plot topples the British government. This debut adventure introduces the only detective duo in Agatha Christie’s canon to age, marry, and evolve throughout her storied career.
