Book synopsis
On a dusty road in a foreign town, a chance encounter between an artist and a mysterious Englishwoman named Celia prevents a tragedy. Realizing she is poised at the edge of despair, the artist remains by her side through a singular, transformative night where she recounts her life story. Through her memories of a happy childhood and the mundane cruelties that followed, a portrait emerges of a woman crippled by fear and the risk of future happiness. This narrative seeks to capture the soul of an ordinary woman whose life reflects the profound scars of the human experience.
